APC’s main Principals, Peter Aberg and Christopher Ray, have developed a series of boutique and focused communities in Texas and New Mexico since 2016. The projects share similar characteristics including premier locations, Class-A design, and unique amenity packages geared toward resident experience in these changing times.
APC’s strength in identifying unique opportunities relies on our leadership’s extensive amount of real estate experience in land acquisition, which includes the zoning and marketing of over 300 acres of multi-family land parcels over the past 25 years. Our team’s background and ability to navigate difficult zoning challenges, and local municipalities in markets with high barriers to entry, has provided consistently strong returns to our partners. Leveraging this skill set has been a critical component of APC’s success as we have formed an expansive network of long-standing relationships and refined our disciplined approach to investment.
The Company remains diligent and acutely focused as we take on no more than two new developments at one time.
Serving as President, Peter Aberg has utilized his 30+ years of commercial real estate experience to grow Aberg Property Company (APC) into a full-service, ground-up, multi-family development company while securing some of the most desirable sites in Texas and New Mexico markets along the way. He is responsible for site acquisition, financing, and design of each project. Today, APC has over 1,000 units completed or under construction.
Mr. Aberg remains a partner in Legacy Capital Company, a land investment and development company based in Dallas, Texas. Over its 25-year history, Legacy has acquired, developed and sold over thirty land investments with a total value in excess of $250 million. These sites have ranged from 5 acres to 600+ acres of land per transaction. Aberg’s background in land investment and entitlements has complimented his current role in the multi-family development industry.
Prior to joining Legacy, Mr. Aberg was among a team of early executives who founded the Jones Lang Lasalle office in Dallas. In his capacity as Senior VP of JLL, Aberg worked in corporate real estate services with responsibilities for assignments throughout the United States and South America.
Mr. Aberg also serves on the board of Aspire (formerly Aberg Center for Literacy) and is a member of Urban Land Institute.
Mr. Ray has been active in the apartment development segment of commercial real estate for 17 years. He started his career at Winston Capital Corp. in 2005 and was directly involved in new developments from entitlements to eventual disposition.
In 2011, Mr. Ray was contracted by L&B Realty Advisors to oversee all planning, zoning and development of the $100 million Brick Row Urban Village. In addition to the Brick Row project, he provided turn-key project development and construction management services on a contract basis.
Upon completion of the Brick Row development, Mr. Ray joined Silver Oak Multifamily as Vice President of Development in 2013. Mr. Ray was responsible for all tasks related to site selection, zoning analysis, architectural and engineering plan coordination, entitlements, and plan approvals through permit. During his tenure with Silver Oak Multifamily, Ray oversaw roughly $216M of multifamily product throughout the Dallas and Austin markets, including The Emerson at Frisco Market Center, a master-planned community of 722 apartment units developed in partnership with Chief Partners of Dallas.
Mr. Ray is currently acting as Executive Vice President for the Aberg Property Company. For APC, Mr. Ray has led the ground up development of Presidio River East (Fort Worth, TX), and Railyard Flats and Capitol Flats projects located in Santa Fe, NM.
